Nestled in the mountains of southern West Virginia, and just miles away from the New River Gorge Bridge, Treworlas Farm is home to a variety of well-bred quality animals, including:
Miniature Donkeys
Our herd of registered miniature donkeys now numbers 26, with six foals born in 2006. Pine Pitch Spot, our spotted herd sire, was purchased from the Reeds of Ass-Pirin Acres in Vermont. We have also started Treworlas Terrific, a small red sorrel jack as our junior sire. Our jennies in a whole range of colors - have come from Vermont, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Texas, and Nebraska. With super dispositions, these friendly little animals belong on everyone’s farm.
Percheron Horses
We now have five black Percheron Horses, with two foals due in 2007.. We started with 18 hand Wee Willie’s Sherry and Top O’ the Hill’s Philamina. Three year old gelding Luther and two year old gelding Treworlas Reggie have been professionally trained to drive both single and double. Treworlas Fiona, a yearling filly, sired by Top o’ the Hill’s Storey Creek Knightshade will be trained in 2007. We used Canada’s Ryanday’s Farm’s Blackhome Cricket Lyn as the sire for our 2007 foals He was number eight on the 2000 Premier Sire List. A beautiful gray, we look forward to seeing new foals on the ground next year.
Miniature Zebu Cattle
Quoting the International Miniature Zebu Association, If you have never seen a newborn Miniature Zebu calf, you don't known what you are missing. They are so darn cute, almost fawn-like. They will steal your heart.
Miniature Zebu Cattle are slow to mature. It seems the smaller the animal, the older they are when they first breed. They are a hardy breed and have a high resistance to disease. Miniature Zebu are a tropical breed and handle the heat very well. In fact, the hotter it is the better they seem to like it. As far as the cold weather, they would much rather stay in the barn. As long as you furnish them with proper housing in the winter months, they will do fine.
Irish Dexter Cattle
We first saw these dual purpose cows at the Royal Cornwall Show in the south of the United Kingdom and they were our first purchases here in the U.S. Our cows came from the Praise Him farm in Ohio, and Snowbird Ira came from a Florida herd. Quiet, calm and small, Irish Dexter Cattle are the perfect cows for a small landholder.

Babydoll Southdown Sheep
We bought Leopold, Cecily, Erin, and Megan in the spring of 2003 from the Penn Oak Farm, outside Philadelphia. Take a look at the pictures of these adorable tiny sheep on this site, and book early to purchase a 2007 lamb! (See our Animals for Sale page for more details)
Jacob Sheep Our cousins in Cornwall England have a small flock of Jacobs an intriguing and unique breed. We got our Jacobs at Cheryl Terranos Painted Rock Farm in Buckhannon, West Virginia. See pictures of our herd sire Elliott on the Jacob Sheep page.
American Game Fowl
Bred for show and breeding purposes only, we have Claret and Grey stock of game fowl from the world famous bloodlines of Wildwater Farms.
